That’s the narrative that is being put forth in both the national and social media on Monday, following the New York Liberty won a decisive Game 5 67-62 in overtime in New York on Sunday night.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a shame that officiating had such a hand in a series like this,鈥� Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve said after the game. 鈥淥bviously there鈥檚 always going to be a team that鈥檚 going to be a little more disappointed than the other. I thought today was incredibly disappointing.鈥�
鈥淭his (expletive) ain鈥檛 that hard,鈥� she added. 鈥淥fficiating, it鈥檚 not that hard.鈥�
Reeve went so far as to say the game was 鈥渟tolen鈥� from the Lynx.
Social media chimed in, including NBA icon LeBron James who tweeted, 鈥淚鈥檓 sorry but that wasn鈥檛 a foul! Let the damn players dictate the outcome of a close battled tested game.鈥�
Carleton, a John McGregor Secondary School graduate, is a starter with the Lynx. In Game 5 she had three points and six rebounds.
