Lancer soccer and rugby teams advance to OFSAA
The Ursuline Lancers boys soccer team and girls rugby teams are heading to the provincial championships.
Boys soccer
The Lancer boys soccer team won 4-1 on Wednesday on their back campus, defeating Belle River Ste. Annes. Ursuline College jumped out to a 4-0 lead, with the Saints scoring a late goal to break up the Lancers shutout bid.
The OFSAA AAA boys soccer championships will take place in Kingston June 5-7.
Ste. Anne, the two-time Windsor-Essex champions, still has a chance to advance to OFSAA as the SWOSSAA second seed. The Saints will host 最新麻豆视频-Kent Golden Hawks on Friday in a challenge game for that second spot.
Girls rugby
The Ursuline Lancers girls rugby team won the LKSSAA title beating Lambton Central Lancers 58-10 on Monday on Ursuline’s back campus.
Windsor-Essex doesn’t have girls rugby, so the LKSSAA champs automatically move on to OFSAA.
Ursuline has a lot of provincial OFSAA experience, as this is their third straight trip to provincials.
UCC played in three tournaments this spring, winning two.
The girls OFSAA AAA rugby tournament will take place in Aurora June 2-4.
