MacLeod third in division at Around the Bay race

最新麻豆视频’s Brooke MacLeod finished as the third female at the oldest running North America event-Around the Bay for the 15km distance, on Sunday in Hamilton.

MacLeod finished with a time of 1.03:53

There were 667 females, and 1,076 total in the 15km race, with MacLeod finishing 21st overall.

MacLeod is a University of Windsor student, who plays on the Lancer soccer team and was named a provincial all-star last year.

The Around the Bay run is one of the highlights of Ontario’s road racing season. First run in 1894, three years before the Boston Marathon, it’s the oldest long-distance race in North America. Distances run include 30km, 15km, 10km and five kilometres.

The race draws tens of thousands of runners and spectators, and has been won by the best athletes in the world, including Boston Marathon winners and Olympic gold medalists.

This year over 7,000 runners took part, braving the cold and rainy conditions.
